My electrician was able to install it relatively easily. It’s nice and sleek looking with it not being big at all so it fits nicely in the nook in the front of my garage on my driveway. The app is very easy to use. It charges my car at its maximum charge rate.

We had this installed in our condo building’s shared garage. The garage has a concrete roof. Our unit is 3 stories above where we park our car, a 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5. Unfortunately, we could not connect reliably to our unit’s wifi to have the full functionality of the ChargePoint app. No shared wifi hotspots were available either. We used a wifi range extender in a common hallway one floor above our garage stall to do initial set-up and configuration but didn’t feel comfortable leaving a $100 extender in the common hallway for ongoing connectivity. For us it works fine to be a plug-and-charge device. The NACS connector works great with our 2025 Ioniq 5. The electrician added a 50 AMP breaker for us and we charge at a consistent 9.6 Kwh. The cable is a bit stiff so it doesn’t coil very tightly around the charger unit. Hopefully it will become more flexible overtime. If a wifi hotspot becomes available in the future we will link to the ChargePoint app and consider signing up for a TOU rate plan with the power company. My rating of 4 stars is because we couldn’t connect to wifi and get the full functionality of the app. While we were connected via the range extender for configuration my rating was 5 stars.

I bought the wall plug-in version for use with my Hyundai Ioniq 9. I love it.

I’m far from handy. I have only the most basic of tools. It took me an hour to install. Anyone who’s the least bit handyman do it. I already had the 220v plug. I mounted the charger to the wall, connected a few wire, and downloaded the app. For me, the install was a big accomplishment (hahahaha).

I absolutely recommend it.

I’m warning you, it’s a mistake to buy this charger. In particular, as it relates especially to support by Chargepoint company itself. Received unit and installed it easily to my garage. (professional of course). Was straight forward and everything was basically seamless. From the Chargepoint app on your phone, you connect the device to your phone, then wi-fi, and then Chargepoint account. No problem at all. Worked for one day, and then disconnected from wi-fi. Had to call Chargepoint support, which means you wait on hold for at least 30 minutes, often longer before speaking to someone. If you opt for a callback, you will never get one.

After spending over an hour on the phone resetting the charger remotely, and having me attempt to reconnect the device, the issue had to be escalated. The escalation after several days (communicated by email and my having to call in frequently) led to a second device being sent to my house where it was installed and as with the first one, connected to my phone, wi-fi, and account seamlessly. A day later, same as the first one, it disconnected from my wifi (light on side of unit turned off) and it would no longer connect either to wifi or account. This disallowed usage of the app. The unit charged the car, but there was no ability to monitor charging sessions or set schedules or view historical sessions.

After several more hour long support calls, it was determined that a 3rd unit should be sent and as expected, it failed after 2 days of working. One might think that the problem is at my house, but I have countless devices connected to my wifi with no issues, including a wireless door opener/camera which is 1 foot away from the charger and has never had an issue working. So it is most likely a hardware or firmware issue with the charger. At this point I said enough is enough and requested a refund which Chargepoint should honor for 3 years. They said they would honor the refund in an email that I kept. Once I officially requested the refund, they stopped answering my emails, and when I called in 2 times I waited on hold for over an hour before disconnecting the phone. I then logged an issue with the Better Business Bureau and requested a refund through Spreetail who sells these on Amazon. At first Spreetail refused to provide a refund due to it being over 30 days from delivery, but thankfully Amazon backed me and finally Spreetail agreed to take it back.

During this ordeal, I have learned that Chargepoint chargers can work seamlessly, but also people like me have glitchy systems and if so, forget about getting support from Chargepoint. It’s a joke. I couldn’t believe a company just turning you off once you request a refund? One of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had, and I’ve had some doozies.

I’ve now ordered the Emporia level 2 charger and the reviews I’ve read indicate that people in general have a very favorable opinion of the charger and experience. My advice, don’t take the chance with Chargepoint. Choose a better company.

Very nice charger, mine was hardwired into a 60 Amp circuit, so 48 Amp output. System works well and was quick for my electrician to install.

Does a great job of charging my car. I have a Cadillac and bought the Tesla cord and a seperate adapter as most manufacturers are switching to NACS so my future cars will be compatible.

I chose this much more expensive brand as I appreciate how the app allows me to track the charging and by inputting my electric rate, I can track actual costs (minus efficiency losses). My current set up is a 240V 50A breaker and this charger works great.

Only negative is the cost.

Easy install. Heavy cables. Very short wall plug cable limits location of charger. App setup straightforward. NACS plug worked great on 2025 Hyundai 5.

If you have to buy only one. You’re in luck. Should you decide to own more than one BEWARE, company intentionally doesn’t disclose the fact that you won’t be able to configure the minimum. Ie after installation you need to have app to configure the amperage etc. without it, it is as good as most mobile charges that comes with your EV, in other terms useless and expensive. Many customers are complaining for at least a year and company CHOOSES DELIBERATELY to hide this MJOR issue
The only workaround is to open multiple e-mais to create multiple accounts just to make the product work.
Oh, and don’t bother opening tickets… You’ll wait forever for follow up and if and when they feel like MAYBE replying, nothing but empty promises…
